Lauren Orchowski’s work originates from making photographs of (mostly) astrophysical landscapes and environments of fixed focal narratives that offer a visual route to a personal destination. For many of her projects she utilizes both 8" x 10" and 7" x 17" analog view cameras. Through the introduction of sculpture, drawing, painting, and printmaking in her studio practice, speculative worlds and universes emerge. What results is a perpetual dialectic between her actual surroundings and re-envisioned enviroments.
